During the process of pit firing, these pots are burned for several hours with organic materials

such as banana peels, seaweed, kelp, salts, and corn husks. The released are instantly

captured on the surface of the porous clay during the firing, creating a snapshot of time and atmosphere.

 

​There is always a trace of us where we have been, a breath, a print, a shadow. Sometimes these traces are negative, the climate crisis, extinction of  animals and plant species, but sometimes the remotes of a person in a moment is sweet, calm, personal, and intimate.
